Hi JS
I think I can relate to your analogy.
The idea is all roads will lead you to your goal. If you get sidetracked along the way, you adapt and make the necessary changes to get back on track.
That's a good one!

Here is a slightly different view of never quitting.
The woman who founded MaryKay cosmetics was telling her story to an interviewer. She was asked if she ever failed. MaryKay replied that she had been knocked down so many times that her knees were bloody. The key to success was to get up one more time than you were knocked down! Then she gave a hearty laugh.
It was a great story, and her laughter told me not to take "defeat" too seriously. Just get up one more time and keep going! Hope this helps.

Yes, if you start something to do for your aim, and you never complete it, you never reach the aim (for what you started to do that something).

It seems to me that it doesn't matter how many side roads you take, as long as you keep heading in the desired direction.
And while you are doing that, enjoy the journey :)

Actually, LoveIsTheAnswer, I myself prefer to take the scenic route. You'll never know what you'll learn about yourself during the journey. So if you are heading to a particular direction and found a side road that you think you might want to explore, why not go ahead and explore? So long as you don't lose sight of ultimately where you want to end up.

So do I , Sheryl :)
In fact, events of late have prompted me to re-evaluate my destination. One often finds (usually only through hindsight, though) that having reached one's destination, the key to the best way to get there often turns out to be in the original APPROACH.
Therefore, it seems prudent to keep *intending* the correct approach in the first place.
This must preferably be done from a number of vantage points.
The act of envisioning this desired location from as many different points of perspective as possible brings more clarity and definition to the goal (or destination) as well as added substance.
Thus there is much to be said for "the scenic route" :)

"Where the mind goes, Energy follows"
The scenic route is.. What I call going out of your COMFORT ZONE and it is loaded with what must be learned to get to your destination. This is a great route to take. In otherwards it's loaded with VALUABLE lessons and will help you with aligning your VIBRATION to what you are DESIRING.
Now lets look at an example of someone MANIFESTING what they want but had no lessons along the way.
How about someone who wins a LOTTERY but has no idea how or what to do with the money. The person in this case usually loses it all and more within a few years. Why you ask because the person was not READY for this amount of money to SHOW up in their life.
Many of these people commit suicide, google search lottery winners that died.
It was just to overwhelming, they did not have the lessons along the way.
And if Where the mind goes, the energy follows..was true we would be in 60,000 places a day.I would say focused
mind, energy follows and creates what is set forth.
Energy follows and FORMS itself, to the daily PROJECTED VIBRATION. Getting in a VIBRATIONAL ALIGNMENT to what you desire, you can MANIFEST anything. Side roads are just there to help you ALIGN yourself with many valuable lessons along the way.
So enjoy the ride, it's a BEAUTIFUL day. Just remember you are the DIRECTOR of your life.

Synopsis of Teaching
• The energy doesn't care whether you want it or don't want it. If you focus on it, you energize it, and you will experience
• There are systems, structures, and spiritual disciplines, all of which are fortifying the need to control, to force, to dictate, to bring about what the intellect wants. This is far from allowing.
• Life is always moving on, bringing about greater and greater connection. When you focus on that, put your energy into that, you get more of it.
• We can encounter these experiences very gracefully, very presently, or we can do so kicking and screaming all the way. It really doesn't make any difference to Life.
• It is no longer a question about survival, but of creation.
The current crises in the world exemplify that what you think, and where you put your energy, is what you get.
Energy follows thought.
The energy doesn't care whether you want it or don't want it.
If you focus on it, you energize it, and you will experience it.
If you feel insecure, and focus on making yourself secure, that merely energizes the experience of insecurity.
It is an attempt to insure that you will be in control of the unknown, the mystery, which is impossible.
To be in the safest place is to be present.
When you are totally present, not holding on to fear or worry or anticipation, you won't be where calamities occur.
You find that you just aren't there when these things happen.
If you are trying to keep yourself safe, if you are afraid, you will put yourself right in harm's way.
This is a lesson about energy that humans continue to misunderstand.
If you look at history, you see that everything that has been done to try to control the world, hasn't worked.
It hasn't made the world safe.
It is time to wake up and see the futility of control. But of course there are systems, structures, and spiritual disciplines, all of which are fortifying the need to control, to force, to dictate, to bring about what the intellect wants. This is far from allowing.
I have great compassion for what is happening in the world.
Yet I also recognize that what is happening is a direct consequence of ignorance, of separation.
It is the ignorance of trying to control what happens, trying to manipulate, trying to keep Life the way one perceives it should be.
That goes against the flow of The Consciousness.
The Consciousness is a continual movement of discovery, experience and experiment.
The obsession with control, with survival, with keeping life in a fixed place, is anti-discovery, anti-becoming, anti-Life.
When you seek to control Life, you are really saying that Is-ness is not all right, that The Consciousness does not know what it is doing.
The perfection of Life is continuous discovery and becoming.
Life is always moving on, bringing about greater and greater connection. When you focus on that, put your energy into that, you get more of it.
We are here to discover how energy works, to understand the core of Life and how it is always evolving, always becoming.
Humans are missing that lesson.
They have misunderstood the whole purpose of Life.
They have emphasized the material, "outside" existence, even creating an outside God.
All of that is in error, taking the human away from the Self, and putting humanity into separation, which is putting it into harm's way, a recipe for disaster.
Life is accelerating, and the frequency and magnitude of current calamities are consequences of that acceleration.
When humans try to hold onto a structure, a way of being that has outlived its time, that effort creates more chaos and separation.
As Life accelerates, we can experience more of this chaos.
But if we stay present with what-is, we won't be affected by these occurrences.
We will be aware of them.
These events may happen to us.
But we won't be affected by them.
We will see these events as occurrences that were set into motion in the past, and now need to work themselves out.
We can encounter these experiences very gracefully, very presently, or we can do so kicking and screaming all the way.
It really doesn't make any difference to Life.
The end result is the same: transformation, transcendence.
It is up to each individual to come to this awareness, to see the bigger picture, to recognize the dead-end of survival and separation, to transcend that through surrender and allowing, to discover that each of us has the innate ability to respond to Life in each moment.
Each of us is in direct relationship with Life, moment by moment. Each of us, by allowing and remaining present, has the appropriate response to anything that is taking place.
When we live this way, there is constant becoming, and no separation.
It is no longer a question about survival, but of creation.
It is about coming together and creating a way of Life that is sustainable and fulfilling.

FOCUS is the key word here:
• The energy doesn't care whether you want it or don't want it. If you focus on it, you energize it, and you will experience
• There are systems, structures, and spiritual disciplines, all of which are fortifying the need to control, to force, to dictate, to bring about what the intellect wants. This is far from allowing.

• It is no longer a question about survival, but of creation.
This is what I'm talking about FOCUSED MIND is key to DIRECTING energy into form be it good or bad. And then LETTING GO of how it will show up(allowing).
This is the LAW OF ALLOWING. This is where EGO TRIPS get in the way and we get DEFENSIVE and a need to CONTROL. We must let what IS, IS
The perfection of Life is continuous discovery and becoming.

Humans are missing that lesson.
They have misunderstood the whole purpose of Life.
That's why we have forums like this, movies like "what the bleep do we know" and the "secret" and seminars from self help gurus and so on. These are to let the people know of the "universal laws" that they were ignorant or unaware of.
Life is accelerating, and the frequency and magnitude of current calamities are consequences of that acceleration.

Yes we are all preparing for the big change. "2112 the end of the mind calendar as we know it"

I am personally preparing for 2012. I started a seven year plan on the 21st December 2005 to reach my goal of evolving in to the true 'ME' I really am.
I divided up the intervening time into seven 'chakra'-coloured years, each with a specific focus of activity.
So far it's all on track :-)
Red - 21st Dec 2005 to 21st Dec 2006 - physical - my partner
Orange - 21st Dec 2006 to 21st Dec 2007 - emotional - my partner
Yellow - 21st Dec 2007 to 21st Dec 2008 - lower mental - my job
Green - 21st Dec 2008 to 21st Dec 2009 - heart - nature - my TRUE nature
Blue - 21st Dec 2009 to 21st Dec 2010 - throat - speaking my mind
Indigo - 21st Dec 2010 to 21st Dec 2011 - third eye - benefitting humankind
Violet - 21st Dec 2011 to 21st Dec 2012 - Crown - going back to God
Since I set my sights on reaching my goal, the time has went *awfully* fast - now I am almost halfway through ALREADY!
May the Consciousness of Love spread to ALL people!
Here's to the New Earth!

Hi!
Your idea there reminds me of what an ancient greek philosopher once said (Plato, Aristotle, I have no idea who!): If you take the distance between you and your goal and you go halfway. Then take the distance that is left and go halfway. Then that distance halfway, and so on. This way, he said, you can never reach a goal!
