What is wealth to you?

I was watching my favorite TV show last night where a character asked his cousin how he can be so calm when he has just been cheated of his inheritance.

The cousin replied that all that money is insignificant to him because he has the love of his parents, a wonderful woman whom he loves and who loves him back, siblings and friends who are supportive. To him, that is the ultimate wealth.

So people, how would you define being wealthy? What does being wealthy mean to you?

I guess it all depends on how a person defines having a full life. Some feel that family and love is more important than having material things while others see status as more important.

I think achieving a healthy balance of everything is ideal but exactly how many of us actually manage to pull that off? There will always be pressures in life to achieve more, to have more of everything.

It's up to them to decide what will bring them more happiness and let go of the other dead weight in their lives.

To me, being wealthy is not just about having money, that's just a third of the formula. To have wealth, you need to have an abundance in all three parts of life, which are Health, Money and Relationships.

Well, that's my definition anyway.

yeah, i'm agreed with you lemonarian,

that 3 things are most important in our life..WEALTH is ABUNDANCE which make you FEEL CONTROL of your own life. I think that the most people want right? ;)

Anyone know the story of a fisherman that meets a businessman.

So there's a poor fisherman sitting in his little boat, fishing (of course :) ) in a lake at sunset. And a businessman comes by and they start talking: "I have a great idea for you: why don't you start using a net, so you'll have more fish". And the fisherman answers: "Why more fish, I can only eat three each day?". "Well, you could start selling the extra fish and make a lot of money", says the businessman. "What do I need that money for?" "Well, after a while you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish, make even more money and eventually own a fleet of boat who will fish for you!"

The fisherman starts thinking and asks the businessman: "And what would I do then?"
"Well", says the businessman, "you could start enjoying life, you would never have to work again! You could just relax, sit in your boat, fish a bit and stare at the beautiful sunset!"

And the fisherman smiles and stares at the sunset...
