View Full Version : Say Thank You

I received a thank you note in my inbox yesterday. It's a very personal, heartfelt note from one of my clients. That definitely made my day.

I viewed the whole thing as just part of my job but it's nice to know that I had managed to help someone and they appreciated it enough to send a personal note.

Which leads me to think, how many other people had extended similar services to me which I hadn't noticed because I took it as part of their job? Or someone else had done something nice for me and all they got in return was a simple automated "Thanks!" It's very robotic with no feelings involved, very distant and cold.

In the busy pace of life these days, it's easy to take for granted the goodwill of people.

So folks, the next time someone does something nice for you or went out of their way to give you great service, give them a genuine smile and say "Thank You". Really mean it.

Believe me, you might help to brighten up their day.

"Thank you" for your post Allison.

Indeed we kind of lost the great power of gratitude. Let's all say Thank you. And let's mean it.

All the best and Thank you all,
Cristian

Found a quote by Zig Ziglar about "thank you". Here goes...

"Today, we too rarely practice good manners... When we neglect to
require our children to say "thank you" when someone gives them a
gift or does something for them, we are raising ungrateful
children who are highly unlikely to be happy. Without gratitude,
happiness is a rare thing. With gratitude, the odds go up
dramatically that happiness will be the result."

Hope you enjoy it.

All the best,
Cristian

It is common practice thesedays to neglect showing sincere gratitude just because it is someone's JOB to do something for you.

I feel this is not a good thing. It makes that person's job a lot less satisfying and fullfilling if, no matter how well they do their job, they never get so much as a "ThankYou" for doing so.

I make it a habit of ALWAYS showing appreciation - especially when someone TRIES to do something for me and fails - it is worth it just to see and hear that I have lifted that person's spirits that little bit.

I agree with you, the words "thank you" are very important.
I make a point of thanking the girls who serve me coffee in coffee shops and always try to find some thing that they're doing that I can compliment them on. They're always appreciative of common manners and I want them to know they are appreciated.
