We've all experience periods in our lives where we thought we are in the deepest of pits and don't know when we will be able to crawl out to the light of day again.

Yet, surprisingly, instead of finding a way out, some people choose to stay in the depths of misery at the cost of their relationships, health and career. Some sink so deep that they just never find a way out. The worst part is, these people seem to enjoy being there and try to entice other unsuspecting fools to join them as well.

It's a pity, really, when it can be so easy to get out of the pits. All it takes is an attitude adjustment. Of course, this is easier said than done, but doable if that person is determined enough to move on with his or her life. Sometimes, the cut that we receive is so deep that it will take a long time to heal.

Maybe instead of obsessing about their misery, they can choose to share in the happiness in others. Misery loves company but laughter is contagious. You see, it's a matter of choice. By deciding to be happy and move on they are making themselves do things that make them feel good and in effect, make them happy. Eventually, they will find that they ARE happy.

I can't think of a better cure than that.
