The teachings about the power of the mind has been around for decades.
But it wasn't that famous until the introduction of Law of Attraction in the "Secrets".
And then, many marketers start to take advantage of it by claiming their successes is due to "law of attraction" and created all sort of products to be sold.
What I want to know is, have you personally experience "law of attraction" in your life?
Or have you tried to use it, but with no success?
Please share your experience and thoughts here.

In my opinion, the Law of Attraction is not something you "try". It's there, whether you like it or not. You just have to properly leverage that effectively and turn it into something good.

In my opinion, the Law of Attraction is not something you "try". It's there, whether you like it or not. You just have to properly leverage that effectively and turn it into something good.
Indeed.
And ThankYou Patric, for starting this thread
The Law of Attraction, variously defined as;
"Like attracts like",
"You get what you think about" or
"Your thoughts determine your experience"
describes how the Creation and Manifestation proceeds but it does not *fully* describe the method by which one can draw towards oneself the object of one's desire (ie what one loves).
The true nature of the subject under consideration must be made clear.
What we are all discussing is ultimately a question of Love. And the answer is always to be found in Love.
For what could be better than being with the one you Love, loving the one you love, being loved by the one you love, doing what you love and loving what you are doing ?
When you put Love at the center, everything else works out.
Many people try to put material things in the center like money, possessions, fame or the "perfect lover".
But these things should not be the target of one's desires, for it is still possible that even *with* any or even all of them, happiness is not guaranteed. They should be seen as a "by-product" of being IN that state of Love.
You can only find Love as you BECOME Love. To put it another way, there is no need to go looking for Love when that is where you are coming from. BE the difference you wish to see in the Universe. BECOME the path that others may follow.
Be yourself. Be the best YOU can be. Do whatever you do with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul.
What you are seeking is what you Love. Furthermore - it loves YOU!
But do you know what it is yet ?
Do you know what you Love ?
Can you imagine that state of being there, clearly, as if it were real right now ?
Or do you only *think* you know what you love ?
If you have illusions about it, then thinking about that thing and that actual thing itself are not the same. When you succeed in drawing that to yourself, you will find that it isn't somehow what you wanted, but with hindsight you will see that YOU are "The Creator" and have, for whatever reason, created the very situation you find yourself in.
Like they say "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it"
and
"There are only two tragedies in life - one is not getting what you want. The other is getting it" (Oscar Wilde)
Love is the only thing I have found that doesn't "backfire" when you get it.
It is important to get things into perspective;
There is happiness (eg. doing what you love)
There is joy (eg. doing it with the one you love)
There is bliss (eg. making love with the one you love)
There is rapture (eg. knowing that this will be forever)
Then there is Love - and THAT"S a NICE place to be.
All you need is to find out what you really love. Then, through the power of desire, the Law of Attraction comes about naturally. It is not something that you have to do.
The Universe likes to reward those who dream and let their spirits fly high.
My personal dream is to get the message out that Love IS the Answer".
It is the answer to all questions and the solution to all problems.
Apart from being in rapture with my Beloved (ALL the time!), there is nothing more I would like to see than everyone in the world experiencing the sheer splendour of Love's magnificent rewards.
I mentioned this intent to my Mentor a while ago.
She asked me how I was going to do it.
I replied that I was going to try writing a book.
She looked quizzical for a moment and then, looking down at her desk, deftly flicked one of her business cards with her middle finger, sending it down onto the floor.
"Oh Michael would you please pick that up for me ?" she said
I picked it up, placed it back in front of her and before I could even pose the question, she asked
"Did you TRY to pick that up ? Or did you just DO IT ?"
'nuff said.

There are many interpretations on the Law of Attraction.
But I believe it's beyond the power of the mind. It comes from that inner self.
BE-DO-HAVE
We must be in order to attract things. And I don't think that only thinking is going to change that inner being. It's a process of self-discovery that will help us change who we are. That will create a different mindset and a different being. Because I know some people who thought positive things all their life, but that didn't attract to many good things to them.
And in order for the law of attraction to work we also have to DO, so that we can have. We have a saying over here that goes something like this: God gives us, but He doesn't put it in our bag.
All the best,
Cristian

I bought into the law of attraction about a year ago,but since trying to apply its concepts, and doing everything it perscribes, over the past year things have become progressively worse. So I am sorry to disagree with everyone on this forum, but the law of attration is a farce,at least for me and another coworker I know. sorry, but it jusdt does not work for everyone no matter how hard they try to put it into action.the law of attraction is not a law, maybe just a guideline maybe.

Wow,
"Law of Attraction" produce a good result for me.
At the last month I just purchase my new car after I thought about it around 6 months before.
And at the starting of this year, I got 3 big projects while found a new partner who can help me handle the jobs.
At the last month, I just got a new consultation job and in process of contract signing.
Now I just tell my wife to get out of her day job and preparing to do internet marketing with me in the next two months.
So now, I'm using Patric's YCDI Success Outcome System to attract "internet marketing success" into my family.
For me, It's FUN to live and getting the "Law of Attraction" works in co-op.
Thanks GOD to let me has today and thanks GOD again to let me found Patric.
Talk later,

About a year ago I bought into all that law of attraction and did my affs, and wrote down all my desires and goals every day and did 3 wish boards and hung them in my apartment.but after 6 months things became worse. But you know what,I then started to relize that this was just wishing, and it would not attrack what I wanted. I finally figured out i need actions to complete this process,if I wanted to get out of this situation i needed to get myself out of this.so now i am a quest to learn how to do internet marketing, improver my mind, and get myself into a better situation You are going to have to relize, prayer, law of attraction,or just plain wishing will need help to attrack what you want.you need to take action and I mean major massive action. So now the true quest for attracking what I want begins

Hey Patric,
I've been manifesting for over 35 years and have experienced some amazing successes. In the beginning I didn't really realize what I was doing though. I would simply say "God I would really like to have or do this or that.. and in a very short while it would always show up. Then I went through a period of several years after my wife died when I was in a very negative mindset, and during that period I found that I had to be VERY careful with what I thought about because everything I didn't want was happening just by my having ONE thought about it and having the intense emotion of fear behind it.
It's taken me a while to sort through all of the childhood wounding that her death brought out.. but I have and I'm back on track. Several months ago for example I said "Universe, how can I make $10,000?".. and two weeks later I was given over $21,000 worth of brand new books when neighbor moved out of his house and left them behind!! In fact, he was apparently was either frustrated or couldn't take them with him.. or both.. that he actually put them out at the dumpster when he left. So I immediately carried 54 boxes of brand new current books (some were best sellers) into my garage and began selling on Amazon and eBay!
The key to it as I see it is to have the expectancy that whatever you ask for (or something better) is absolutely GOING to come. Why? Because we live in a huge Quantum field that responds to our every thought and emotion. We get back what we put out anyway.. so why not do it consciously?
Namaste'

Hi John,
Thank you for your sharing. It's really fascinating to read all kinds of different experience others are experiencing with "Law of Attraction".
For instance, what you've gained when you asked for $10,000 a month - could it be mere coincidence or the law in action?
Many fall 'victim' to this new age concept because it seems so 'easy' to work but IT DOES works.
In my humble opinion, it's best to practice it when someone masters it completely because like one of the members post below, you'll attract ANYTHING - positive or negative if you're doing it wrongly.
I am still learning about Law of Attraction. I do believe in it because when I'm not confidence on my own goals or ensure what's the outcome I'm trying to achieve - many obstacles start to appear. Could it be the fact that my mind is unconsciously attracting obstacles to 'protect' me because the Mind does not know how to truly knows what we want?
Well, that's my thought for today.

Indeed you are correct - creation or 'manifestation' involves more than *just* visualisation, affirmation and hope. Even adding intense desire and concentrated focus to these may be insufficient to bring about that which one yearns for.
One must BEcome the change one wants to see in the world.
The only thing I would suggest, if I may be so bold, is that instead of focusing on "doing internet marketing", you focus on what you would really LOVE to do that would necessitate you BEING an internet marketeer.
One must learn to become *causal to* one's universe, rather than an effect of it. This IS the "Creator" in action. It all starts in the mind. The original idea, 'nurtured' and acted upon, after a sufficient length of time, will 'bear fruit'. Therefore it is important to be able to distinguish matters of hope from things that are only a matter of *time*.
If you dedicate yourself to achieving your goal, then it is only a matter of time before you succeed. But it must be *acted upon*. This may mean making space for it, a place for it, a path or channel for it to come to you or all these or even more - this depends on the scale of the undertaking.
You are in a fortunate situation, jknightx - for it is only when one INTENDS to change the universe and applies their WILL to that intention, that one can actually do so. You now know what you must do if you are to exercise that will. It is in your heart.
Think with your heart, Love with your mind.
Remember that you are not alone, and when you are working for the betterment of ALL, you are assisted by Great Beings.
"Work with all your heart, Love with all your heart and renounce with all your heart and all things on Earth and in Heaven will be yours"

Wow! I hope I'm not too late here.
In my opinion, the Law of Attraction applies to everybody at every moment.
In my life, the Law of Attraction has worked both positively and negatively for me.
I unconsciously attracted a lot of negative events to me before I understand the concept of the Law of Attraction. However, after I learned about it, I begin to see what's really going on in my life and why it happened.
Since then, I begin to change my thought and begin to drive massive positive results into my life. :D
I know that I must apply it consciously and constantly into my life, so I started a blog and made a commitment to post an article literally everyday about the subject of the Law of Attraction. ;)

Mr Chan, i have to respectfully disagree, the law of attraction does not work, the only time you see anything about the law of attraction is when some one claims how it worked for them, but the truth of the fact more people have failed with the law of attraction than have succeeded.the winners are the only ones success coaches post are the winners.I wish I WAS WRONG, but i have spoke to quite a few people on forums and yahoo answers and coworkers who have all belived in the law of attraction and all failed with it,including myself,it took me 6 months to finally relize the law attraction is fiction.for 6 months the law of attraction was my bible,my religion, but like most religions it did not bring about tangible results.but i do consider it a lesson learned.t/c Mr Chan.

JKNIGHTX- States... the Law OF A ttraction does not work
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr Chan, i have to respectfully disagree, the law of attraction does not work, the only time you see anything about the law of attraction is when some one claims how it worked for them, but the truth of the fact more people have failed with the law of attraction than have succeeded.the winners are the only ones success coaches post are the winners.I wish I WAS WRONG, but i have spoke to quite a few people on forums and yahoo answers and coworkers who have all belived in the law of attraction and all failed with it,including myself,it took me 6 months to finally relize the law attraction is fiction.for 6 months the law of attraction was my bible,my religion, but like most religions it did not bring about tangible results.but i do consider it a lesson learned.t/c Mr Chan.
6 months is not long enough for most people. It took me 3 years to make radical changes in my life. I took the liberty to EMPTY my garbage (negative past beliefs) And I replaced and FILLED my life with SELF LOVE and PURPOSE (positive new beliefs). I see GREATNESS in everything that takes place in my life NOW. And in return I live a fulfilling life, a life to be GRATEFUL for.
You mentioned that you spoke to quite a few people on forums, and yahoo, and co-workers that believed in Law of attraction and all failed.
It looks like the law is working, your attracting PEOPLE and RESOURCES to assure you that the law does not work. The universe is delivering more reasons why it DOES NOT work for you.
Law of attraction - Is not a LAW where you make a wish to a GENIE and then he drops your wish on your lap, because your thinking positive that he will do that.
Yes law of attraction is about setting an INTENTION with a true purpose and game plan to achieve it. And then LET IT GO (knowing) it is on the way. Now what they mean by LET IT GO is the HOW it will show up in your life. But the key...Is to get into a VIBRATIONAL MATCH with what your intending to BE, DO, OR HAVE.
This is where most people THINK the LAW OF ATTRACTION doesn't work. Because it is hard to VIBRATE with or about something that you don't have yet in your life.
I can tell you this though...
If you keep THINKING, what your THINKING.
And you keep DOING, what your DOING.
You will keep GETTING, what your GETTING.
Change these 3 things, And you will change your life.
If you truly want to make a DIFFERENCE in your life, and want a game plan to achieve it, I will provide you one. But, you first have to make a decision to CHANGE. A change that will take you out of your COMFORT ZONE where most DESIRES are to be found.
The pot of gold is not at the end of the RAINBOW, it lies within the RAINBOW.
You can count on me to guide you to POSITIVE change
Find POSITIVE in everything, do not complain about anything for 1 week. And this alone will make a BIG difference in your LIFE.
with LOVE,
Dann

"The time you are most tempted to give up is just before you are about to succeed"
For just over eight months I struggled to find my ideal job. I studied every resume-writing site I could find and created countless "Curricula Vitae", registered with over 50(!) employment agencies and traveled to nearly every state in Australia, attending many interviews, only to find that what I was applying for was NOT my ideal job.
But every failure drove me to work harder, because I knew in my heart that somewhere out there was what I was looking for.
Somewhere during the 7th month I decided to throw the resume-writing advice I had heard so often to the winds;
"No-one will read more than a single-page resume", they said
"Don't put a picture of yourself in the resume", they said
"Don't include excess detail about previous employment" they said
and so on...
But something didn't make sense about all this!
If *I* were an employer and some applicant handed ME a single-page Word-Template resume in black and white with no pictures and no history, I CERTAINLY would not consider them!
So I made a 26-PAGE resume containing everything about me I could think of. My experience in every area of expertise, references - personal and business, samples of previous work and a summarized life history of achievements.
The next month I scored a suitable well paid job in another state as a teacher, teaching the things I knew best and began preparation for the move.
TWO DAYS after that, I received another offer for considerably better money as Editor for an electronics magazine. So I cancelled out on the previous job. This one was in my state and a WHOLE lot closer.
No sooner had I accepted THAT job, when the third one presented itself. This employer, like the previous two, was MOST impressed with my resume, saying it was the best they had ever seen!
To cut a long story short, I COULD have given up many times during the eight months.
But I didn't.
Each time I failed, I tried harder.
And it paid off.
So much so that when I set my sights on something now, I don't care if it takes eighTEEN months, or even much longer.
One thing is for certain;
Had I chosen to BELIEVE that I would never attain my goal, then there would be NO shortage of "proof" that I was right.
So to give up after only six months is not only a terrible shame, but also a waste of six month's good work!
Now I look back and I can see that the Law of Attraction DOES work - but it does not come about by sitting there hoping and praying, visualizing and focusing ONLY.
You must create POSITIVE ACTION. By doing so, you show the universe you are serious and that you will NOT be dissuaded by a few mere failures.

The Law of Attraction absolutely does work. I've been applying it to my own life for several years now.
With that said, however, I think that one must be careful as to what they 'wish' for. I think that greed plays into it. For example...if I need $200 to pay my light bill, all I do is state that fact - daily, and with conviction - and it does come to me. It's not greedy.
On the other hand, although I've never attempted it (and never will), I would never just state that I need $2 million, for no apparent reason other than I want $2 million.
I've used the LOA to:
Attract new clients
Pay bills
Get a car repaired (when I couldn't possibly afford the repairs)
To bring the right people into my life, at exactly the right time
To find peace
To find money to pay for Christmas gifts for my kids
To resolve bad situations
and so many more things...
I think that the LOA doesn't work for many people because:
1. They get greedy with it. They go beyond the realm, if you know what I mean. Instead of trying to attract things within reason, they want to attract millions of dollars, and not lift a finger to bring it into their lives...that just doesn't work (as far as I know, and as far as I believe).
2. They don't fully believe in it - with their whole heart, and their whole mind. They have doubts, and whether they realize it or not, those doubts are interfering with the LOA. The LOA isn't something that you 'experiment' with for a while. It's a way of life - a state of being.
So, instead of stating that you want that $2 million, you might try stating that you want a way to earn a living that makes you financially secure, in whatever the Universe deems that financially secure is for you.
That is exactly what I did about five years ago, and guess what?
I'm financially secure.
I'm not monetarily rich by anyone's standards.
My bills are paid. There is money to save for retirement and unexpected expenses. There is money left over each week/month for my husband and I to go camping, to travel to visit our grand baby, to buy new things that we want/need for our home, etc.
We have a reasonable, comfortable life. We have a nice roof over our heads, decent vehicles to drive, and plenty of food to eat. All of our needs, and many of our 'wants' are covered.
I didn't ask for $2 million, and had I asked for $2 million, I most likely would not have gotten it, because I don't need that amount of money :)
I have also told many close friends and family members about LOA, and how to PROPERLY apply it to their lives - how to live it - and they have also had success.
This doesn't mean that I get everything that I try to attract - but every single time that has happened, later I realized that it was a GOOD thing that I didn't get it!
Just my two cents,
nooraza

I just watched The Secret last month and I tried on the small things first.
I wished to buy a new front loading washing machine for few months before - but its never happen because I could not afford it. So I tried to apply the law of attraction, put it in my vision board and last week I just bought one during the warehouse sale, the price cheaper and its exactly the same model that I thought of buying....it just very small stuff, but its working on me!
My opinion for Law of Attraction is its working if you wishes for something reasonable within the time limit that you decide to have. If you wish to become millionaires in 2 weeks - see first where you stand now! Either it is reasonable and attainable or not!
Next, I planned to focus on getting income & profit from my internet marketing business....

Works for me as well!!! One thing I found to make my affirmations more effective, is by actually writing them down. I used it to pass my exams for example and since I started doing that I always "got lucky" ;) with questions, etc. or found my memory to be wayyy more effective.
Anyone trying the free lessons the teachers of The Secret gave out: 7 free lessons (http://thesgrprogram.com/?a_aid=7a4c1e03)? I'm at lesson 3 now, and they're a really easy way of putting your knowledge into practice.
Another thing I regularly do is watching socalled "mindmovies" and making my own hypno-tapes with affirmations in it!

Yes, it's like making a small movieclip with pictures, text and affirmations. This way it's easy to visualize your goals. You can find a good example of this: here (http://hannestruth.wordpress.com/2008/09/24/the-secret-visualisation-tool/). I also started making some of them myself, but they're in Dutch. Also the hypnotapes I make are in my own language, together with some relaxing music I made.

Hey,
The law of attraction works for everybody all of the time. The first thing I suggest you do is start noticing the little things. Also, there is much more to the LOA than what they teach you on "The Secret", especially in the 2nd version where they cut out Esther Hicks.
If you want to really learn the LAO - I suggest you learn from Abraham.
Then you will learn that for the LOA to bring you everything you want - all you have to do is.... be happy!
