The result is a society full of people who feel deeply unfulfilled, people who suffer from low self-esteem because they’ve never been taught the real spiritual foundation of human self-esteem, and people who turn to Prozac for inner peace, and to crystal methamphetamine for an intense feeling of being alive.

Western societies, and to a deplorable extent Asian and “developing world” countries who’ve fallen into the error of emulating the rich West, have devolved into television-watching cultures whose game shows and so-called “reality shows” feature vapid and life-skills lacking individuals whose lives are all about dysfunctionality, drinking, irresponsible sex, blatant egotism, or getting paid for enjoying their fleeting 15 minutes of fame.

It’s more than just sad commentary that vicariously living through such sensational shows is many people’s idea of entertainment today, it’s also a truly disturbing symptom that modern man seriously suffers from a severe deficiency of depth, direction, and a sense of his own divinity.

And a good many modern people genuinely are suffering, just look at the different self-destructive and poignant forms of escapism we commonly turn to, addictions and obsessions, drug and alcohol abuse. Such illnesses are not failings of individual men and women, they are the failings and signs of unwellness of our dysfunctional and pathological culture.

When Western civilization opted for wealth and power over inner growth and spirituality, it condemned generations of human beings to an empty and disappointing existence, and it condemned itself to its eventual “decline and fall”, something we’re perhaps witnessing today. But you can still opt out of the materialism, selfishness, and shallowness of modern society. You absolutely can opt for a fantastically different kind of life. A life more in tune with the inner reality of the universe, and the wisdom of the ages.

You have the natural ability and the cosmic right to realize your full potential for human and spiritual greatness! You can embrace the adventure of revolutionizing your experience of consciousness and life. You can take your self-awareness deeper than your ego, to a discovery of ultimate reality and truth.
